Rhos Aelwyd 0-6 Airbus UK Broughton
League Cup 1st Round
The opening exchanges were pretty even, neither side creating a clear cut chance until the 14th minute when, after some neat passing, Josh Parry slid a ball into the path of Mark Atkinson on the wing. Mark outpaced the full back and crossed perfectly to Tom Littler who steered the ball past the home keeper for a fantastic opening goal. Virtually straight from the restart Airbus wrestled back possession and Connor Boyle squirmed his way past two defenders before being felled by a third to gain Airbus a penalty. Tom Littler coolly netted the spot kick on 15 minutes. The action continued at pace, Airbus being in control. On 18 minutes Danny Calvert broke through midfield and crossed into the home box where Tom Littler collected, swivelled, and fired home to complete a sensational hat-trick, scored in four minutes, no doubt creating a club record in doing so. Rhos rallied a little and on 25 minutes sent a shot just wide but the momentum was clearly with Airbus who added a fourth just before half-time. Flying winger Mark Atkinson again found a great cross for midfielder Connor Boyle to steer passed the keeper.

The second half saw Airbus dominance continue with Josh Griffiths and Connor Boyle outstanding in midfield and the inevitable happened in the 65th minute. Josh Griffiths flew down the wing and produced a superb cross which Chris Simmons flicked home at the back post. Stuart Clarke, Shaun McCartney and Josh Parry were all denied by the overworked keeper as Airbus looked to add to their tally. The final goal of the game arrived in the final minute. Full back Dan Calvert popped up on the edge of the Rhos box and as he surged forward was up ended. Dan converted the spot kick himself to give the Wingmen an impressive victory.
