Airbus UK Broughton 1-3 Penycae
The game was lively from kick-off, both teams playing attractive football.
Penycae were unlucky on 4 minutes when after sloppy defending a shot hit the post.
Airbus created their first chance on 7 minutes when a free kick found Jordan Ellis who drove straight at the keeper.
The visitors continued to press and looked more likely to score but clear chances were hard to find as Jamie Meacock and Leigh Owens, at the heart of the home defence, remained solid.
Tom Littler was unlucky on 35 minutes when his flick from a corner was cleared off the line.
On the stroke of half-time the dead lock was broken by the visitors, a powerful header from a corner looping into the top corner past a stranded Dan Cooper.
HT 0 - 1
Airbus should have levelled immediately after the restart, Joe Jones angling a great ball behind the visitors defence for Lee Jones, who hit his shot disappointingly wide.
Penycae responded immediately working the ball into the heart of the home defence where a stretching Jamie Meacock caught a visiting forward to concede a penalty. Penycae converted comfortably to double their lead.
Worse was to come and on 55 minutes another swift Penycae break ended with a left wing cross being wickedly deflected past Dan Cooper to make it 0 – 3.
Airbus strived to get back into the game but created very little against the impressive visitors. Jordan O’Brien gave the Wingmen some hope smashing home a great drive from 20 yards with 15 minutes left, but the visitors survived the final onslaught without conceding again to take home a deserved 3 points.
