Chirk AAA 1-4 Airbus UK Broughton
This encounter brought together the league’s top two sides, Chirk lying in second place and undefeated to date. Airbus settled very quickly and, following a swift attack, Jordan O’Brien put in a great cross which was hammered home by Josh Parry to give the visitors the lead after just two minutes. Airbus were flying and on 8 minutes another cross, this time from Mark Atkinson, was headed home superbly by Tom Littler. Chirk were visibly shaken and did well to survive further attacking waves and on 18 minutes, against the run of play, they grabbed a half chance to reduce the arrears. The Wingmen however continued to dominate in all areas of the pitch and on the half hour mark Jordan Ellis chipped a neat pass over the home defence for Tom Littler to run onto before clinically sliding the ball past the oncoming keeper to restore a two goal cushion. Chirk were on the back foot almost constantly but broke just before half time sending a shot narrowly wide. HT 1 - 3
Airbus started the second half were they had left off and their first attack saw Tom Littler complete his hat-trick steering into the far corner from a Joe Jones cross. Josh Atkin was called into action on 55 minutes making a brilliant save to deny the home centre forward. Airbus continued to maintain the upper hand for the remainder of the game creating a couple of half chances, Chris Simmons being particularly unlucky when the Chirk keeper saved to deny him. The game ended 4-1 to Airbus and each and every player deserves credit for a superb performance. FT 1 - 4
