Airbus UK Broughton 2-0 Prestatyn Town

WELSH PREMIER LEAGUE U19 LEAGUE

Airbus marked their debut in the competition with a bright opening, Tom Littler flicking on long clearance for strike partner Lee Jones to run onto.  Lee outpaced the visitors defence but shot straight at the keeper.  The home side continued to dominate and were unlucky on 15 minutes when following a goalmouth scramble the ball was cleared off the visitor’s line.  Prestatyn then roused themselves and home keeper Dan Cooper pulled off two fine saves to deny them.  The game continued to flow for the remainder of the half but neither side could break the deadlock.

Airbus opened the half playing fast attacking football and were rewarded in the 49th minute.  A left wing cross found Tom Littler in the box and his shot was charged down but fell to Connor Boyle on the edge of the box who smashed home a low drive.  The home side maintained the tempo and began to dominate the game scoring a deserved second on 70 minutes.  Liam Jones raided down the left and produced a perfect cross to Tom Littler who coolly converted from 7 yards.  The home side were now free to enjoy themselves and full back Ben Evans joined in beating three players before delivering a great cross which was headed just over.  Prestatyn rallied in the final minutes but couldn’t breach a rock solid home defence and Airbus had a thoroughly deserved victory.
