Wingmakers reluctantly sell Sheridan

Airbus UK Broughton have confirmed that they have Sold current Top Scorer to Bala Town for an undisclosed fee.

Sheridan will join the Lakesider`s with immediate effect on what is believed to be a 2 year deal, he is likely to go straight into Colin Caton`s side for the weekend game against Afan Lido which is scheduled to be broadcast live on S4C.

Sheridan was a real fans favourite in his year at the Airfield and his record of 21 goals in 31 starts is the reason why Caton was so keen to secure his signature for the second half of the Season, ultimately although Airbus UK Broughton could offer Sheridan an extension, it is unlikely they would have been able to match wages at Maes Tegid.

Airbus UK Broughton Chief Operating Officer Stewart Roberts was quick to praise Sheridan " Ian has done really well for us and ultimately when players do well we will get interest, we knew once Craig left for TNS there would be Clubs enquiring about our players, no one is for Sale as we do not need to sell players, we are trying to hold on to all of our players and indeed add to the Squad in January, we wish Ian well and indeed Bala Town who offered us an attractive all round package for Ian that will remain undisclosed. Bala also conducted themselves exceptionally throughout the negotiations.

Paul McKinlay was also upbeat despite Sheridan`s departure " I would ask all Airbus UK Broughton Officials, Players and supporters to be patient and understanding during this period of uncertainty having lost our Director of Football and Leading goal scorer, we are closing in on a New Director of Football having held interviews already, and hope to be in a position to announce something early next week, the players have been spoken to by myself and they understand we do not need to sell anyone, but when offers come in we have a duty to consider each and every one with the Club in mind, that said we are looking to retain our remaining players and move forwards and improve the squad under our new DoF. Finally I wish Ian well at his new club and thank him for his service to Airbus over the last 12 months.

Hopefully in a few days everyone will be extremley positive once an announcement is made and we can look forward to the Welsh Cup and Challenging for 7th place and an outside chance for Europe.

Further News on an Appointment by the Club will be announced via a press release and on this website in due course.
