Airbus UK Broughton 3-0 Lex XI
The very strong winds blasting the Airfield made things very difficult for both teams. Airbus started well but several good moves ended with crosses drifting harmlessly out of play. Prompted by Josh Griffiths, in the centre of midfield, the home side began to master the conditions and their opponents, but a couple of long range shots saved by the keeper were all that resulted. On 30 minutes a Josh Griffiths shot was pawed over the bar and from the resultant corner Mark Allen headed narrowly wide. Airbus pressure finally paid in the 44th minute, following a neat build up featuring Jordan Ellis and Dan Calvert, the ball broke to striker Tom Littler who beat one defender before drilling a crisp shot into the corner of the net from 12 yards.

An enforced change at the interval introduced winger Nick Crawshaw who saw a goal bound pile driver saved superbly on 48 minutes. Airbus pinned Lex in their own half for the next 30 minutes but despite a string of corners and near misses did not add to their tally. Lex then managed a couple of breaks into the Airbus half but were comfortably repelled by the home defence. This stimulated a further wave of attacks and in the 75thminute Airbus grabbed a second. Full-back Grant Wain fed Josh Parry in midfield who drove forward but saw his shot saved and an alert Nick Crawshaw pounced on the rebound to slot home. The Wingmen almost made it three in the next attack when Josh Roberts, played in by Jordan Ellis, curled a shot just over Tom littler then danced past three defenders but struck the post. A third and final goal did arrive in the last minute. The tireless Josh Griffiths feeding Josh Parry, whose shot was blocked before winning the ball back to set up Connor Boyle who made no mistake from 8 yards.
